Chai by Mira – The Rest is Chai
With our Autumn menu soon to arrive, we’re collaborating with author, entrepreneur and integrated health practitioner Mira Manek, who specialises in the art of chai & happens to supply us with her range of spice mixes that have made their way into our dishes and drinks.
First up, this Friday, we’re hosting a breakfast social with Mira. She will be there to talk about her love and knowledge of chai and ayurvedic traditions.
For this occasion, we’re launching a special ‘Mira’s chai carrot-pan-cakes’ – super yummie mini pancakes filled with classic flavours – and the unavoidable and deeply happy-making ‘Gingerbread-chai hot chocolate’. Both will warmly coax you into the autumn.
Mira grew up with her mother and grandmother infusing her with the smells and joys of daily rituals. These memories lead her to eventually go back to her roots, discovering the history and health benefits of Indian chai, digging up stories and a vast variety of recipes along the way. “The rest is history” as she went on to start her business with an array of spice blends that evoke the essence of chai: like yoga in a cup, a moment of stillness and contemplation.
The synergy of our pancakes and Mira’s chai is as much about the power of creating moments of joy and rituals around the table as it is about the impact of our foods on gut health. Each spice that Mira weaves into her recipes acts as an anti-inflammatory, offering a myriad of health benefits. The regenerative organic flours in our batter, organic wheat and buckwheat flour, interact with all other ingredients, specifically buttermilk, in a slow process of fermentation, creating pancakes that are really good for you.
No wonder we love this collaboration with Mira.
If you’d like to take a deep-dive into the world of chai yourself, don’t hesitate to enrich your kitchen library with ‘The Book of Chai’ by Mira Manek, available in all major UK bookstores.
